ACCA FIA : Diploma in Accounting and Business

ACCA FIA course requires the shortest duration of only 9 months to complete. The FIA qualifications will award you certificate at different stages of your studies. There are total 7 papers in the ACCA-FIA qualification. The FIA qualifications include:

What is RQF?

RQF stands for Regulated Qualifications Framework. It is the official framework used in the UK (England and Northern Ireland) to classify and compare qualifications based on their level of difficulty and size. So, when you complete ACCA-FIA papers FBT, FMA and FFA – you are awarded an RQF Level 4 Diploma, which is equivalent to Year 1 Bachelor’s degree.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirement to start your ACCA-FIA course. You have to be 16 years old of age.

Course Duration

Genesis Origo runs multiple intakes for FIA throughout the year. There is option for full-online study too, where you can study at your own pace. The shortest duration to complete FIA could be as short as 9 months (depending on your entry intake) to about 12 months.

FIA Progression

Once you have completed the 7 papers in ACCA FIA, you have the following options:

Complete 2 more papers (taxation / auditing or finance) to complete CERTIFIED ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN qualification.
Proceed to ACCA Skills level – to complete 6 papers (for Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business).
Start working at the Entry Level Job (eg: Accounts executive or assistant) with your FIA.

Certified Accounting Technician Qualification

The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Qualification requires you to complete the three FIA diplomas (7 papers) plus two (2) Options. You’ll need to complete two out of the three specialist options awards:

FAU Foundations in Audit
FTX Foundations in Taxation
FFM Foundations in Financial Management

If you want to work (or already are working) in tax, financial management or audit and want certification for your skills, you can attempt and pass the specific specialist option paper and be awarded an ACCA RQL Level 4 certificate for the respective subject. However, you need to complete the Foundations in Professionalism module in

ACCA Certificate in Audit (RQF Level 4)
ACCA Certificate in Taxation (RQF Level 4)
ACCA Certificate in Financial Management (RQF Level 4)

You will also need to complete the Foundations in Professionalism module in addition in order to be awarded the certificate in that subject.
